Do I need a prescription from my veterinarian to order through VetFaster?
Yes. By Canadian law, prescription pet medications require a valid Rx from a licensed veterinarian. Your vet can fax, email, or call it in to our partner Alberta pharmacy, or you can upload it at checkout.
How long does it take to get my pet's medication delivered in Calgary?
Orders placed before 1 PM on a weekday are typically delivered the same day across Calgary, Airdrie, and Chestermere. Orders placed later arrive the next business day.
What does delivery cost?
A flat $10 fee per delivery. Even with shipping included, most pet owners still save 20–40% compared to buying the same medication at a vet clinic.
Can I transfer my pet's existing prescription from another pharmacy or vet clinic?
Yes. Ask the vet to fax the prescription to 1-902-417-5036 and we shall handle it further from there.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and Interac debit. Payment is processed securely at checkout.
Can you bill my pet insurance directly?
No. Like most Canadian pet pharmacies, payment is collected upfront. We provide an itemized pharmacy receipt you can submit to Trupanion, Pets Plus Us, Petsecure, or any insurer for reimbursement.
How are refrigerated medications like insulin shipped?
Cold-chain items ship in insulated packaging with medical-grade gel packs. Our local couriers deliver same-day so the cold chain is never broken.
What if no one is home when my delivery arrives?
Our courier will leave the package in a safe spot at your door and send you a photo confirmation. For controlled drugs or insulin, we'll coordinate a delivery window or reattempt the next business day.
Can I set up automatic refills for chronic medications?
Yes. For ongoing prescriptions like thyroid meds, heart medication, or monthly parasite prevention, you can opt into auto-refill at checkout and we'll ship before you run out.
Do you deliver non-prescription pet products like food, supplements, or flea collars?
Right now we focus exclusively on prescription pet medications so we can guarantee pharmacy-grade dispensing and same-day delivery. Over-the-counter products are not yet available.
Is my pet's health information kept private?
Yes. We are bound by Alberta's Health Information Act (HIA) and PIPEDA. Your pet's records are encrypted, never sold, and only shared with your veterinarian and our dispensing pharmacist.
What should I do if my pet has a bad reaction to a medication?
Contact your veterinarian immediately. Then let our pharmacy team know at support@vetfaster.ca so we can document it.
Do you deliver to apartments, condos, and buzzer-access buildings?
Yes. Add your buzzer code or unit instructions at checkout and our courier will follow them. We deliver across all Calgary condo and apartment buildings.
Can I order medication for more than one pet on the same order?
Most of the medicine order needs vet prescription. If you have multiple pet orders prescribed by the vet it would show up as multiple order in the order cart.
How do I contact VetFaster if I have a question about my order?
Email support@vetfaster.ca or use the contact form on our website. Our Calgary-based team responds within one business hour during pharmacy hours, Monday to Saturday.
